To all cadets involved in NCC Day Parade Sea GOH contingent,

Date of 1st rehearsal: 26 June 2009
Duration:
1400 – 1730 hr
Reporting venue & time: Amoy Quee Camp, HQ NCC, BLK 245, 1330 hr
Attire:
No.4 long sleeve, peak cap & gloves

One IC from each school unit to report to the Contingent Commander, C/OFFR Haqiz or to me, C/OFFR Clarence.

Do NOT be late as we have to draw arms and probably put on the rifle slings as well.
Do NOT bring contraband items such as image capturing devices or camera handphones. It will slow down the booking in process since there will be many cadets coming in at around the same time.
Do remember to bring your headgear (beret) as well. The peak cap will only be used during the rehearsal.

Drink plenty of water the night before and have at least 7 hours of undisturbed rest.
Also, remember to have your lunch first before reporting. Only snacks will be provided.

Any queries, please tag or sms your respective Cadet officers and they will be able to contact me.

Thanks.

Congratulations to all 11 cadets who passed out of the recently-concluded Specialists Course. Though we did not have any 2SGs, we, Cadet Officers, nevertheless are still proud of your achievements and recognize the efforts made during the course. Hope you managed to discover new things during the duration of the course.

Welcome to the Instructor world.

How's your holidays so far?

I have decided to conduct training sometime next week. Most probably Thursday or Friday. Normal kind of training. Marching, some bends and hitches lessons, etc. Please do spread the message because i need to know the number of you people coming down. It can't be a training just for 3-6 people. Minimum number should be at least 15.

Do note that this training is voluntary, could be used as a make up training session and boost your attendance. Venue would be at school. Time is to be confirmed on a later date after i get the ideal response. Do inform me by either tagging on the tagboard or drop me an email (hahaworld92@hotmail.com)

Camp FEAST Phase 2 (25-26 April 2009)

Before attending Camp FEAST, I thought that the camp will be very strict and very challenging. I also thought about how the Amoy Quee camp looks like, as I have never been there before. In the bus on the way to Amoy Quee camp, all of us were excited as we knew that Camp FEAST is going to be fun.

Day 1

After alighting the bus and going to a block located at “Leadership road”, we were broken up into 6 different platoons: 1, 2, 3,4,5,6. After being broken up, we had to go to our platoons. There were many schools that joined us.

1010-1100hrs: Ice Breaker

My platoon had ice breaking games and Farkhanda made the most friends after the games. The games were very interactive.

1110-1200hrs: Low elements

The low elements were fun, especially the “Tire”, where we needed to carry a person through a huge tire. The aim of the game was to work as a team. After doing the low elements, we had our lunch. We had Nasi Goreng and it was spicy.

1300-1420hrs: Paintball

Paintball was the activity that I least enjoyed as we only got to hit targets and there were only 12 rounds. I think that paintball is an activity that requires a lot of accuracy.

1450-1610hrs: Rock Climbing

Rock climbing was a lot harder than I thought. There were so little rocks and they were all so small. After Rock Climbing, there was the High Elements, which was my favourite of all the activities above. High elements ended at 1740hrs and all of us went back to our bunks.

Camp Feast Night

All of us enjoyed ourselves a lot here! We sang, some people danced and all of us played the bomb game, which made me lose my voice. After camp FEAST night, all of us went to sleep. I was sad as there was no night walk.

Day 2

Day 2 was not as fun as day 1, as we needed to leave camp. We had Archery, Motivational Obstacle Course, rappelling and flying fox. After these activities, it rained. We had to wait an hour until the rain stops and finally, we could return to school. I missed my new friends, hopefully we could meet again.
I enjoyed the camp a lot and realised that although it was a little bit strict, it did not stop us from having fun.

To all,

Happy June holidays to all Sea Cadets! Enjoy the month long break. (:
______________________________________________________________

To Part A,

How was 1 star kayaking course? Hope that all of you had fun and learned a lot from your instructors. And, how was Camp FEAST too? I would like one of you or maybe a group of you to write a post of about 150-200words and send it to me. I'll post it up on the blog so that your peers, seniors and friends can learn more about what you have done during the camp. Take it like a newsletter article. Interested parties, please tag on the tagboard and leave your email. I will contact you via email soon.
______________________________________________________________

To Part B,

How has training been so far? It's been long since I went only for your trainings. I apologize for that. Any new happenings? Or questions that you might have? Feel free to approach me.
______________________________________________________________

To Part C,

Now that you have taken over the Unit, how do you find trainings? Any problems that you might want to bring up to your cadet officers? Specialist course is coming up (after AKE). Hope that you are prepared for it. Looking at the tabulated scores for your Footdrill Mutuals test conducted by C/OFFR Haqiz, I can say that improvements have to be made. It is the last few weeks to Specialist course, please do approach your cadet officers or your seniors (if they are free) for help. I'm sure they are all more than willing to share with you their experiences. If you have any questions regarding Specialist course, please collate them and ask me. Or, send them to my email (get from Asshida).

And, where are the Part C volunteers who can help manage this blog?

To the NCC Day Parade Sea GOH contingent cadets,

I hope that your No. 1 uniforms are in proper condition. Please ensure that you have the right amount of buttons, the correct side for each pair of gloves and that your top and bottom of the uniform and the shoes are fitting. You do not want to look sloppy in it. If you need to have any part of the uniform changed, please call MAJ Tan before you go down. Sea Logistics store is usually opened on Tuesdays. But, call at least a day before to check.
